The Spitfire Grill, with music and book by James Valcq, and lyrics and book by Fred Alley, is based on the film by Lee David Zlotoff, and tells the story of a feisty parolee who follows her dreams to a small town in Wisconsin. She soon finds a place for herself working at Hannah’s Spitfire Grill, which is for sale. As luck would have it, there are no takers for the only eatery in the depressed town, so newcomer Percy suggests that Hannah raffle it off. Soon, mail is arriving by the wheelbarrow full and things are definitely cookin’ at the Spitfire Grill.
